McDonald Creek Walk 2011!
The first walk will take place
on Saturday, October 1st 11 am-1:30 pm Meeting place: Kiwanis Park 712 N. Elm Street
Our second walk will be on Sunday, October 2nd from 11 am-1:30 pm meeting place: Walton
Woods 601 N. Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL
Let us know if you can attend one or both of these walks.
During these two days,
we will try to reassess some of the areas with the greatest blockages/problems that we have encountered
in the first two years of our walks.
We will be walking in the creek itself, so please bring waders
(preferably chest waders), or shoes that can get wet (we have some vinyl disposable chest waders but they require
shoes).
A walking stick is also good to have. We've used mop or broom handles in the
past, which seem to work the best:) In the event of heavy rain or high water, the creek walk will be postponed
for a later date. For questions, email us or call (224) 659-0002
North Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District now

| AFTER MWRD CLEANUP |
After our survey of McDonald Creek this past October, we were able to provide MWRD with the exact locations of several large
blockages, both in Prospect Heights and Wheeling.
As a result of our efforts, MWRD has cleared all of them! We thank MWRD and everyone involved
for their time and hard work!!
